Fresh ham is raw pork leg (or hind leg) of a pig, similar to a pork roast, which needs to be cooked thoroughly before eating. Our Fresh Ham hasn't been treated with salt, brines, smoke, or other flavorings used in curing. It has a pale pink or beige color, like a fresh pork roast, unlike the pink or deep rose color of cured ham. Fresh ham needs to be cooked thoroughly before eating, just like any other raw pork roast. You can roast it, grill it, or cook it in any way you would a pork roast. The flavor of fresh ham is more like pork loin or shoulder, and the texture is similar to roast pork. Fresh Ham is sometimes referred to as green ham or uncured ham.
